Director of LiFT University
Nikki Rodriguez is married with one stepson named Hunter, and gave birth to a beautiful to baby boy named Xavier Knight Mendez in December 2015. She lives with her family in Tampa and enjoys a wide range of outdoor activities such as family camping trips, music festivals, and anything to do with the water: going to the beach, relaxing on the boat with extended family, snorkeling, and swimming.
Nikki was born and raised in Tampa, and graduated from Tampa Catholic High school. She studied at USF and majored in Psychology with an emphasis on clinical psychology, abnormal psychology, and Autism. Nikki Rodriguez has a true passion for helping young adults with neurodiversities transition to independence.
Her career began as a social worker for Disability Achievement Center where she pioneered a program for young adults to achieve community inclusion by hosting independent living classes that ended with an hour of social group. From there, Nikki began teaching employment skills, social skills, and independent living skills in the community for young adults with neurodiversitites that included teaching the seniors here at LiFT Academy. This sparked a fire of passion and dedication to help young adults with neurodiversities transition into living independently within our community. The same passion has led Nikki to teaching and directing the LiFT-U program. She loves her job, and thinks of LiFT as her extended family. Her goal in life is to make a difference in her surrounding community one student at a time.
